Google is pushing forward with its AI ambitions, and the benefits of its investments are now becoming apparent. Through the new PaLM API and MakerSuite, developers and businesses have a way to explore and prototype with generative AI applications. And with Google Cloud, businesses and governments can access Google’s AI models, including PaLM, to build and customize their own models and apps.
Google Workspace is also introducing new features that help people harness the power of generative AI to create, connect and collaborate. This includes new features in Gmail and Google Docs that allow people to type in a topic they’d like to write about and instantly generate a draft.
However, with this new technology comes complex challenges, which is why Google is committed to being bold and responsible in its approach. It has AI Principles to guide its work, and it is constantly pressure testing its new experiences with external and internal testers.
The potential of generative AI is enormous, and it will unlock opportunities in many areas such as creativity, applications, and customer and constituent engagement. We look forward to seeing what Google comes up with in the coming weeks and months.
